Zohar on Terumah, from the Daniel Matt translation:
If you would inquire, inquire - as is said: Search in the Book of יהוה and read (Isaiah 34:16); there you will find what your exile and redemption depend upon. When you inquire of her, she will respond, proclaiming before you, שובו (Shuvu), Return, come! - return in complete teshuvah, then immediately come and draw close to Me.
Zohar 2:130b
Well, this passage just describes so perfectly and succinctly the purpose of life, correct? When we wonder what is causing both our spiritual exile and spiritual redemption, we should know that the Torah contains all this Wisdom in an infinitely digestible and applicable form. And turning to Her (Torah) is "satisfaction guaranteed" - inquire of Her and she will respond, providing all the answers we need.
I truly believe that ever single event or action that occurs to us, every single circumstance and interaction, both large and small - is both captured somewhere in the Torah and, more broadly, an opportunity for teshuvah, for return - will we use it to draw closer to G-d, or will it flutter by, unnoticed (as discussed by the Aish Kodesh)? I miss 999, but I do internalize 1 opportunity. And if we return, then we will be immediately brought close to G-d to experience the ultimate spiritual pleasure of deveikut (closeness) and Oneness, the greatest mystery of all.
